Natural Asthma Treatment – Quick and Easy

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

Asthma affects 1 out of every 15 students. It impacts every facet of their lives: social, academic, physical and recreational. Many individuals seek out quick and natural treament for their asthma attacks instead of loading up their bodies with chemicals. However, asthma treatment through natural remedies depends upon the trigger that started the attack.

There are a number of ways that an asthma attack can be triggered. Triggers include chemicals, cleaning supplies, perfumes, emotional stress, environmental allergies, barometric pressure changes, cold weather, food allergies, pets, mold, smoke and pests such as cockroaches and rats.

Most of the solutions to asthmatic attacks include medications, steroids and long term medical treatments. One immediate natural relief for asthma is to avoid the triggers such as avoiding pets, chemicals, environmental allergens and emotional stress. You can’t escape some triggers, such as pest and animal droppings, cold temperatures and fluctuations in barometric pressure.

Natural remedies, including stress reducers, can be used to manage other triggers like emotional stress. Others utilize an organic diet and herbal treatments to lower the risk of an asthma attack.

Another treatment that provides immediate natural relief for asthma is to work toward prevention by improving the immune system and decreasing the constrictions of the bronchioles and alveoli (air sacs) in the lungs. Families use aerosolized hydrogen peroxide in a humidifier to increase the amount of oxygen that a sufferer is able to metabolize.

It’s been shown that using hydrogen peroxide in the humidifier raises the level of oxygen available for use. Adding the hydrogen peroxide will vaporize the product but will also bleach out the wall and curtains near the vaporizer. With careful use, and if your doctor permits it, hydrogen peroxide can be added to the equipment that delivers your bronchodilator.

This is a method that helps to eliminate some of the attacks and improve the immune system but it doesn’t address the underlying cause of the asthma. There are many other ways to manage emotional stress to provide quick natural relief of a stress related attack. One way is to practice Reiki, a Japanese technique that helps to reduce stress levels and encourages relaxation and healing.

Reiki is based on the idea of an unseen life force of energy that supposedly flows through us and what causes life. If your life flow is lowered, you are more susceptible to illness and stress problems. With heightened Reiki comes more happiness, health and capability. Reiki gives instant natural relief from asthma symptoms, and also heals the entire system – mind, body, spirit and emotions.

Using prevention and stress reduction will help decrease the need for medications and immediate natural relief for asthma attacks.
